Known for her big hair and big voice, Jess started her artist journey as a teenager listening to powerful female voices including Whitney Houston and Ella Fitzgerald. She honed her writing skills whilst studying English Literature at Oxford University, where she also became well-known for promoting women across the student music scene. She continues to champion women in her band and creative team.
External circumstances have not stopped Jess Fitz launching her artist career at full speed over the course of 2020. A string of independent single releases featuring jazzy melodies, soulful pop choruses and funk-fuelled brass and bass have racked up over 100k streams and received support from BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Introducing & Amazing Radio amongst others. A regular on the London gig circuit, she has performed at iconic venues including The Jazz Café and Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. 2021 beckons.
